Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Open the back panel of Archos with a tiny + screwdriver.

    There are two screws on the bottom.

    Remove these and the back pops right off.

    If it does not you can use an
    - screwdriver in the tabs near the screws and on the opposite side. , If you remove the hard drive you will notice the battery is soldered right on to the hard drive.

    You don't need to do this though., Clip towards the top of the battery to leave plenty of wiring to work with.,,, Enjoy.
  2. Step 2: You will see the battery sitting on top of hard drive.

  3. Step 3: Clip the black and red wire to remove the old battery.

  4. Step 4: With a wire cutter

  5. Step 5: strip a small amount of tubing from the ends of both wires.

  6. Step 6: Join the wiring of the new battery (which can be found online for under $20

  7. Step 7: including shipping) to the wiring of the old one by twisting the ends together.

  8. Step 8: Pop the back on and screw it down.
