Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Locate the CoreServices folder.

    It can be found at System.

    Library and then CoreServices.

    If you can't locate the CoreServices folder, use "Go to Folder..." (⇧ Shift+⌘ Cmd+G and paste /System/Library/CoreServices.
  2. Step 2: Find Dock app and show package contents

    All the images that make the dock, and App page are there.

    Note that the Resources folder doesn't contain icons for the apps on your dock, just Finder and Trash. ,,, To change this, , Make sure it is in .jpg format. ,
  3. Step 3: then go to Resources.

  4. Step 4: Delete files 'dbgrid.png' and '[email protected]' from the folder.

  5. Step 5: Open Terminal and type 'killall dock'

  6. Step 6: OPTIONAL TO CHANGE BACKGROUND FROM WAVE: You'll notice that the background of your Dashboard is set to the default wave background.

  7. Step 7: Rename it to 'Wave' and replace it in /Library/Desktop Pictures.

  8. Step 8: Open Terminal and type 'killall dock' to apply changes.
