Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Give each person a piece of paper

    You should be forming an approximate circle.
  2. Step 2: a writing utensil and a surface to write on if you're not sitting at a table.

    This can be a real person, living or dead, or a fictional entity (e.g.

    Mickey Mouse, Santa Claus).

    No one should be allowed to peek at what others are writing.

    Directly below the name everyone should write the word "met". ,,,), the name of a female- living or dead, fictional or real. ,, This should generally begin with "to"

    "at"

    "under"

    Ex: "On top of Old Smokey" Ex: "At a New Age card tournament" Ex: "In a cardboard box under the 42nd St.

    Bridge"

    ,,,,, Ex: "And then they went ice-skating in Rockefeller Center." Ex: "And then they eloped before high-tailing it to Belize." Ex: "And then they played a hard-fought game of pool and she won."

    , As their turn comes up, each person unfolds their paper and reads the interesting story that the group has, however unconsciously, collaborated on.
  3. Step 3: Instruct everyone to write the name of a male at the top of the paper

  4. Step 4: leaving plenty of room below it (at least 7/8 of the paper).

  5. Step 5: Tell everyone to fold the top of their paper over so that just what they have written is hidden from view

  6. Step 6: but so that there is plenty of room left on the paper.

  7. Step 7: Have everyone pass their paper to the person to their left.

  8. Step 8: Instruct everyone to write on their new piece of paper

  9. Step 9: under the folded-over bit (no peeking!

  10. Step 10: Have everyone fold the top of the paper over again to conceal this name

  11. Step 11: and pass their paper to the person on their left once again.

  12. Step 12: Tell everyone to write where this two people are supposed to have met.

  13. Step 13: Have everyone fold and pass their paper as before.

  14. Step 14: Instruct people to write the words

  15. Step 15: "He said" followed by whatever sentence comes to mind.

  16. Step 16: Fold and pass as before.

  17. Step 17: Have people write the words

  18. Step 18: "She said" and then whatever it is imagined that "she"

  19. Step 19: whoever she is

  20. Step 20: may have said.

  21. Step 21: Fold and pass again.

  22. Step 22: Tell people to write "And then they" and to then complete the sentence as they see fit.

  23. Step 23: Fold and pass one more time.

  24. Step 24: Choose who will read first

  25. Step 25: and then go clockwise around the table.
