Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Use a #2 Phillips screw driver to remove rubber feet from bottom of blower.

This will be used as the mounting base for the blower., This will be used as the top of the blower encasement.,,,,, These holes will later be drilled and used to secure blower to the mounting base. ,,, These two boards will create the front and rear panels of the blower encasement. ,, This 4 ½” measurement is the radius of the blower face. ,,,, Trace the cut out circle of rear panel onto front panel.,,,,, (Approximately 2” from corner edge),,, Place four #8-32 1” machine screws through the holes you drilled earlier. , (If needed apply masking tape to machine screws to prevent them from falling out during this step.) , At this point the blower should be sitting flat on mounting base with machine screws through each respected blower foot. ,,,, (Approximately 2” from corner edge) ,, Place filters between blower fan and front and rear panels.

Be sure the air flow depicted on filter matches air flow going through the blower.
  2. Step 2: Cut a ¾” piece of plywood by 11 ¼” by 15 1/8”.

  3. Step 3: Cut a ¾” piece of plywood by 11 ¼” by 15 1/8”.

  4. Step 4: Mark vertical and horizontal center lines on the ¾” mounting base.

  5. Step 5: Mark center lines vertically bisecting the blower on both sides of blower fan.

  6. Step 6: Mark center lines vertically bisecting the blower on the front and back face.

  7. Step 7: Place the blower on mounting base and align both center lines.

  8. Step 8: Mark a hole in each of the blower feet.

  9. Step 9: Remove the blower from mounting base and set aside.

  10. Step 10: Use a 3/16th drill bit to drill a hole in each marked position on mounting base.

  11. Step 11: Cut two ¾” plywood boards at 11 ¼” and 11 5/8”.

  12. Step 12: Use a straight edge to mark diagonal center lines on the rear panel.

  13. Step 13: On each diagonal line measuring from the center

  14. Step 14: make a mark at 4 ½”.

  15. Step 15: Use the blower as a template to align the blower so its outside edges sit inside each of the four markings on the rear panel.

  16. Step 16: Trace around the outside of the blower onto the rear panel.

  17. Step 17: Use a jigsaw to cut out circle traced on rear panel.

  18. Step 18: Place the rear panel onto of the front panel ensuring all edges are aligned flush.

  19. Step 19: Use a jigsaw to cut out circle traced on front panel.

  20. Step 20: Place a bead of wood glue onto the top rear edge of mounting base

  21. Step 21: on the rear panel.

  22. Step 22: Clamp the rear panel into place.

  23. Step 23: Turn the clamped rear and mounting base onto its side.

  24. Step 24: Drill two 3/32” holes into rear panel.

  25. Step 25: Drill two 1 5/8” screws into holes just drilled.

  26. Step 26: Repeat this panel mounting process for the front panel.

  27. Step 27: Put the encasement on its side.

  28. Step 28: Turn the encasement to the upright position.

  29. Step 29: Align and lower the holes of blower feet onto machine screws in mounting base.

  30. Step 30: Place one #8-32 nut onto each of the machine screws and tighten with a small crescent wrench.

  31. Step 31: Place a bead of glue along the top edge of both front and rear panels.

  32. Step 32: Place plywood cut earlier on top of encasement and clamp down.

  33. Step 33: Drill four 3/32” holes into top of encasement.

  34. Step 34: Place and screw one 1 5/8” screw into each hole.

  35. Step 35: Determine the direction of blower’s air flow through the encasement.
