  1. Step 1: Get the tip out and ready to be worked with.

    Obviously, not too loose, but definitely not too tight. , You could use other things like small bubble wrap as well. , Be sure that the paper towel doesn't go all the way to the end of the underlying duct tape. , Also, make sure that it doesn't go all the way to the end of the underlying tape. , Be sure that none of the sticky sides of the tape will touch the floor. ,,,
  2. Step 2: Take the duct tape and wrap it around the tip

  3. Step 3: but not snugly.

  4. Step 4: Take half a paper towel and wrap it up to be fairly small.

  5. Step 5: Fold over the paper towel and cut off the part of it that is particularly bulky.

  6. Step 6: Wrap the next piece of tape around the paper towel.

  7. Step 7: Take a 'shortish' piece of duct tape and cover the end of the cane.

  8. Step 8: Wrap that piece with another piece of duct tape to keep it secure.

  9. Step 9: Snip the first piece of duct tape and then fold it over the top of the duct tape you just added.

  10. Step 10: Walk around and make sure that everything is secure.
