Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Obtain any size or shape picture frame and carefully remove the glass and backing.

    (This can be an old frame or something purchased) I chose a 5X7 rectangle frame.
  2. Step 2: Use spray paint

    Pictured is a frame that is being painted white with a rose print on the sides.

    Allow the painted frame to dry completely. ,, Start by first rolling the paper about 6-7 times to form the center. ,, (Tacky Glue works very well for this.) ,,,,
  3. Step 3: acrylic paint

  4. Step 4: or paint pens to paint the frame.

  5. Step 5: Use an X-acto knife or utility knife to carefully cut out a background for your frame from white foam board and insert into frame.

  6. Step 6: Use crepe paper to make rosettes.

  7. Step 7: Then holding the rolled center between your thumb and index fingers

  8. Step 8: gently roll crepe paper around center piece while twisting to form the look of rose petals.

  9. Step 9: Once desired rosette size is achieved

  10. Step 10: secure ends with glue.

  11. Step 11: Glue rosette into center of finished frame.

  12. Step 12: Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the frame is full of rosettes and no white foam board background shows.

  13. Step 13: Attach a ribbon to the finished project

  14. Step 14: allowing plenty of slack for the frame to hang.
