Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Unplug the washer and disconnect the water hoses.

    You will need a knife or straight edged screwdriver to press down or pry out the appropriate parts of the plug. ,, This is what holds the frame of the washer to the body of it. , You will need to lay it on what would be its front so that you can access the lid switch assembly.

    This view is from inside the shell of the washer and underneath.

    For this view, you will need to be 'inside' the shell. ,, Take note of where everything is. ,,, Be sure that you put everything where it came from.
  2. Step 2: Remove the control panel from the top of the washer.

  3. Step 3: Disconnect the plug from the control panel.

  4. Step 4: Feed it back through the opening that it is in.

  5. Step 5: If you haven't already

  6. Step 6: remove the spring clips that are on either side of the washer.

  7. Step 7: Carefully

  8. Step 8: remove the washer's metal cover from the washer body.

  9. Step 9: Disconnect the grounding wire.

  10. Step 10: Carefully

  11. Step 11: remove the various clips that attach the assembly to the washer.

  12. Step 12: Replace the assembly

  13. Step 13: after you have removed it.

  14. Step 14: Reconnect the grounding wire.

  15. Step 15: Reassemble the washer.
