Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Remove all furniture from beneath the ceiling.

    Cover all walls, and any furniture you cannot remove, with plastic sheeting.

    Secure the sheeting tightly with masking tape.
  2. Step 2: Mix the stucco in a large bucket.

    First put the dry mix in, then add water and stir.

    Follow the directions given with the mix. , If the stucco slides off before you tilt the trowel to an angle of 40 degrees, it is too wet. , Follow instructions given with the sprayer regarding how much to load.

    This will allow you not only to practice applying the stucco, but to test the consistency of your mix.

    If you are dissatisfied with how it looks, go back to Step 2 and add more dry mix or more water. , Get a feel for the speed and movement of the sprayer. , Put on your mask and safety glasses.

    Make sure that you can easily and safely get within range of the ceiling. , Do not go over the same area twice. ,, From your new position, start spraying again. ,,,
