Step 1: Raise two Chao to adult.
One has to be a Normal Chao; the one you started with.
The other Chao can be any adult Chao obtained through the Black Market, Shiny included -
Step 2: Get them in the same garden
, Once Flowers start to bloom around your Chao, they're in mating season. ,,,, That said, throwing has been known to cause your Chao to be more hesitant, and even change the facial expression to a confused face. , However, like real genetics, flukes do happen.
There is a chance it will be Normal or Monotone like its Parents.
In this case you will want to reset your Gamecube, do NOT exit the garden; this will save the game and you will have your Normal or Monotone for good! The Controller combo for reset is X, B, and Start at once. , -
Step 3: preferably alone.

Step 4: Purchase two Heart fruits from the Black Market
