Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Get the template for liner measurements from your pool supplier.

    The architect or contractor who built your pool should also have them.
  2. Step 2: Choose your liner color & pattern.

    It is strongly recommended to choose a very dark liner pattern as this will allow you water to be heated by the sun up to 7 °F (−14 °C) more than a light colored liner. , This will require tape measures that are at least as long as the longest measurement in the pool which is corner to corner.

    Free-form pools will require an "A" "B" plot that uses two tape measures to complete. , You can drain the pool in advance if you are certain that you have dry weather in the forecast and ONLY if you have a mortar bottom pool.

    Sand and vermiculite pools should wait until the last minute to drain. , Grind and use galvanized steel rust paint where required to limit rust formation. , If you find any, consult a contractor or pool repairman and fix before moving forward. , Vacuum pool floor and water that has collected. ,,,,, Shift the liner to eliminate any wrinkles. , Cut out main drains when there is 12" of water.

  12. Step 12: Install the vacuum through skimmer behind the liner.

  13. Step 13: Position the liner as air is removed from behind it.

  14. Step 14: Begin adding water.

  15. Step 15: Remove the vacuum and continue filling to returns.

  16. Step 16: Install return gaskets and face places.

  17. Step 17: Fill the pool to skimmer.

  18. Step 18: Install the skimmer gasket and the faceplate.

  19. Step 19: Fill pool to halfway on skimmer mouth and start system.

  20. Step 20: Add chlorine shock.
