How to Prepare and Install an Above Ground Swimming Pool Liner
Temporarily unroll your new liner in a sunny, debris free area., Seal the through-the-wall skimmer area with cardboard., Seal the water return, lighting holes with duct tape., Insert 2' of shop vac hose through the card boarded skimmer area...
Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Temporarily unroll your new liner in a sunny
(this will assist liner to stretch later on) , (attach with duct tape on the outside of pool wall) , (duct tape from outside of pool wall) , (duct tape well, until sealed) , (these must be good seals) , (insure there is no debris, rocks, pebbles or rough areas!) ,,, (get some help! don't let liner fall inside pool area!) , (do not get inside pool, you can do this from outside of pool area) , (pull liner about 6" over the wall and attach) , (to about 15") , (this will visually assist you in the final liner setting) , (insure that the bottom seam is even all around the perimeter) , (we don't want the wall to fall! This next step will happen fast!), (this will simulate water and suck all air out of liner area) , (while doing step #18) , (this will remove all wrinkles) , (if not, go to step #12) , (critical) , (DO NOT SHUT OFF VACUUM or you'll get wrinkles!!!) ,, (Finally!) , (while removing clothes pins) ,, (find at least two holes per item and punch out with awl) , (returns, skimmers, lights, etc..) , (return and feed lines, steps, etc..) ,,, -
Step 2: debris free area.

Step 3: Seal the through-the-wall skimmer area with cardboard.

Step 4: Seal the water return

Step 5: lighting holes with duct tape.

Step 6: Insert 2' of shop vac hose through the card boarded skimmer area cardboard.

Step 7: Inspect all duct taped areas.

Step 8: Re-inspect pool base.

Step 9: Attach two wooden clothes pins to each upright.

Step 10: Fold new liner in half.

Step 11: Place liner in pool area

Step 12: retaining both ends.

Step 13: Carefully unfold liner in pool area.

Step 14: Attach liner to pool wall using the clothes pins.

Step 15: Evenly pull liner further over the wall

Step 16: releasing and attaching pins as needed.

Step 17: Gently brush and tap liner towards the walls.

Step 18: Inspect and Adjust liner as needed.

Step 19: Now get some help!

Step 20: Hook up shop vac to vac hose and turn on.

Step 21: Release liner EVENLY as it tightens by releasing and attaching clothes pins.

Step 22: Gently brush and tap liner around entire perimeter towards the walls.

Step 23: Continue releasing and brooming the liner until it is seated and even!

Step 24: Inspect liner for wrinkles and alignment

Step 25: if ok continue

Step 26: if not shut off vac and go to step #12.

Step 27: If all is well

Step 28: start filling with water.

Step 29: Continue to fill until at least 1" of water covers the entire bottom of pool.

Step 30: Shut off shop vac!

Step 31: Reassemble seat clamps

Step 32: pool ledges
-
Step 33: top plates and top rail.

Step 34: Continue filling pool until one foot of water covers the entire bottom of pool.

Step 35: Install all face plates and gaskets.

Step 36: Carefully cut out all liner material from gasketed areas.

Step 37: Remove all duct taped seals.

Step 38: Fill to appropriate operational level.

Step 39: Hook up filtration system and any accessories.

Step 40: Add your start up chemicals.
