Do this over the sink, using running water if wished. , It must be small enough to fit inside the mincer, the same size as a garlic clove.
If you're using potatoes in your cooking for the same meal, set aside a little piece from those potatoes. , It will come out easily through the other side and will bring with it the rest of the stuck garlic.
Best of all it removes the odor of crushed garlic.
A small piece of bread can be substituted for the potato and will work just as effectively.
It's a good use of discarded crusts! , Allow to air dry; this is more effective than trying to towel dry it. -
