Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar (next to the time).

    Go Start, Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, Sound Recorder. , A YouTube music video or a streaming Napster or Rhapsody song.

    Find the song you want. , (Steps 10,11),, Press stop when you get 1 second beyond the actual length of the song you're going to record ,, If it has, then it's recording. ,,
  2. Step 2: Select "Open Volume Controls".

  3. Step 3: Find Properties under Options

  4. Step 4: Select recording and then check "Stereo Mix"

  5. Step 5: Press OK.

  6. Step 6: Check the select button under "Stereo Mix" (Don't touch the controls).

  7. Step 7: Open sound recorder.

  8. Step 8: Open up a music source.

  9. Step 9: Extend the sound recorder so it captures more than one minute of your song.

  10. Step 10: Start recording without the song or background music!
