Step 1: Open your iMovie program and select the iMovie project you want to add a fade to.
You will see your iMovie project's video clips as a timeline in the video editing section of the iMovie screen located in the upper left hand quadrant. -
Step 2: Go to the "Windows" tab located along the top pane of your iMovie program.
, This will bring up a "Transitions" screen located at the bottom right hand corner of the iMovie project quadrant.
This "Transitions" section will show you a list of transitioning options to add to your iMovie project.
These transitions editing effects can be put in front of, in between, or at the end of your video clips or images to create a smoother transitioning effect. ,,, Place the "Fade Through Black" transition effect behind the video clip or image you want iMovie to add a fade out to within your iMovie project. , This will activate the iMovie playback feature so you can preview your work and fine-tune it accordingly. -
