  1. Step 1: Search for "System Settings" in the dash.

    At the very top of the sidebar, you will be presented with the Ubuntu logo in a square.

    Click this icon to open the dash.

    Once the dash is open, locate and launch the system settings.
  2. Step 2: Navigate to the "Details" menu.

    In the third section down, you will find the Details menu.

    Click on this to open it up. , In the middle of the screen under the Overview tab, you'll see the Ubuntu icon just over the top of a label reading "ubuntu" along with the version running on your machine.
  3. Step 3: Determine your version.
