Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Cut a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe 11 3/4" long.
Drill 3/16" holes at 1 5/8"
2 5/8"
3 3/8"
4 3/16"
5 1/8"
5 7/8"
and 10 1/2" from one end.
Use a knife to make the hole at 10 1/2" square. -
Step 2: Make a blade out of the side of the square hole that is closest to the other holes.
, This is the wind way. , Cut off a thin slice of the dowel on one side of it.
This is the fipple. , Drill a small hole on the short side of the pipe from the square hole, but on the opposite side and insert a small brass screw. ,,, -
Step 3: File away part of the inside of the pipe on the short side of the square hole.

Step 4: Cut a piece of 1/2" dowel that is about 1 1/4" long.

Step 5: Insert the dowel into the pipe on the short side of the square hole.

Step 6: Cut off a bit of the pipe at an angle on the underside of the mouthpiece.

Step 7: Sand the whistle with 400 grit sandpaper under water.

Step 8: Paint if you prefer.
