Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Click here to get the image and then print out the first piece of the Emerald City.
Pop on a heavy paper(like cardstock or construction paper) -
Step 2: Click the image on the right to enlarge and print out the second piece of the Emerald City on that same heavy paper.
,,,, Go all the way from the top to the bottom of the card! , Make sure you cut out the small window in the center of the main pop-up piece ,,, color in all the pieces before you go any further! Make sure you Do Not color over any areas that read glue here! After coloring, take the piece of the Emerald City that has the cut out window in it... {see next step} , Begin to fold it in half, away from the center dotted line. ,, Crease it firmly then open it. , Set this piece aside. ,,,, Crease it firmly then open it. , Crease firmly. ,, Set this piece aside. ,,,, Set this piece aside. , Open the card back up again. , Only put the glue on these four areas. , Crease firmly. , only put glue on these four areas , Carefully align and press into the card.

Step 3: Click the image on the right to enlarge and then print out the card for the Emerald City on the same heavy paper.

Step 4: Use a ruler as a guide

Step 5: and take the rounded end of a paper clip (or a ballpoint pen that has run out of ink) and press along the dotted lines of the pop-up pieces on the first printout.

Step 6: Now again use a ruler as a guide

Step 7: and take the rounded end of a paper clip (or a ballpoint pen that has run out of ink) and press along the dotted lines of the pop-up piece on the second printout.

Step 8: Once again use the ruler as a guide

Step 9: take the rounded end of a paper clip (or a ballpoint pen that has run out of ink) and press along the dotted line on the center of the card.

Step 10: Carefully cut out the pop-up pieces from the first printout.

Step 11: Carefully cut out the pop-up piece from the second printout.

Step 12: Then slowly cut out the Oz card following the solid
-
Step 13: black lines.
-
Step 14: Important Now!!

Step 15: Fold completely in half and crease with your finger.

Step 16: Open the whole pop-up piece again and push the center "V" shaped piece backwards and down.

Step 17: Fold all of the "flower" tabs at the bottom up
-
Step 18: crease with your finger
-
Step 19: then open them back up again.

Step 20: Take the second piece of the Emerald City...{see next step}

Step 21: ...Begin to fold it in half
-
Step 22: away from the center dotted line.
-
Step 23: Fold completely in half and crease with your finger.

Step 24: Open the whole pop-up piece again and push the center "V" shaped piece backwards and down.

Step 25: Take hold up the upper left piece of the pop and fold it backwards
-
Step 26: away from the dotted line.
-
Step 27: Do the same with the upper right piece of the pop and crease firmly.

Step 28: Open the whole pop-up piece again and fold the four tabs at the top down
-
Step 29: then open them again.
-
Step 30: Fold down the four "flower" tabs at the bottom
-
Step 31: then open them up again.
-
Step 32: Take the remaining pop-up piece and begin folding it in half
-
Step 33: away from the center dotted line.
-
Step 34: Fold completely in half and crease with your finger.
-
Step 35: Fold down the two "flower" tabs at the bottom
-
Step 36: then open them up again.
-
Step 37: Take the card and fold completely in half along the center dotted line.

Step 38: Put a small amount of glue on the four areas indicated by the red arrows.
-
Step 39: Take hold up the upper left piece of the pop and fold it backwards
-
Step 40: away from the dotted line.
-
Step 41: Put a small amount of glue on the four areas indicated by the red arrows.
-
Step 42: Take the second piece of the Emerald City and place it over the areas you just put glue on.
-
Step 43: Put a small amount of glue on the two upper left areas on the piece of the Emerald City with the window cut out.
-
Step 44: Put a small amount of glue on the two upper left areas on the piece of the Emerald City with the window cut out.
-
Step 45: Press the matching tabs from the front piece of the Emerald City onto the glue.

Step 46: Put a small amount of glue on the two upper right areas and press the matching tabs from the front piece of the Emerald City onto the glue.

Step 47: Put a small amount of glue along the last glue area at the front of the card.
-
Step 48: Take the piece with Dorothy and her friends on it and press onto the glue areas.

Step 49: Once the glue has dried

Step 50: carefully begin to close the card.

Step 51: Your pop-up Emerald City is complete!
