Step 1: Place diced tomatoes in a medium saucepan on medium heat.

Step 2: Stir refried beans into warmed tomatoes.
Continue heating and mixing until well combined. , Taste the mix and add salt if necessary.
Turn the burner to low and allow to sit for the time being. ,, Strain rendered fat into an empty bean can and throw away once cool and solidified. , Cook onion until translucent. , If using canned jalapenos, add juice as well.
Turn off burner. , Don’t worry about spraying or greasing the dish beforehand. , If it doesn’t all fit, set the excess aside.
Be sure to turn off the burner the beans were on. ,, Turn off oven and serve alongside a communal bowl of tortilla chips as well as guacamole and sour cream (optional).
