Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Keep a scanned copy of your proof of Identity ready.

    PAN Number/Driving Licence/Passport/Country ID i.e any Government document of your Country which has your photo Affixed on it- should be in English, if not, get it translated by authorized translator, if you are a Non-Indian then it should be duly notarized in your country. (The objective of Government of India is to establish fact that you exist as an Individual).

    If the Applicant is Indian then he has to Provide PAN card Copy.The Document should also be self- Attested.
  2. Step 2: Keep a scanned copy of proof of address ready.

    Driving Licence/Passport/Country ID/Latest Utility Bill/Bank Statement i.e any documents which provides your current residential address
    - It should be in English, if not , get it translated by authorized translator. if you are a Non-Indian then it should be duly notarized. (The objective of Government of India is to establish your correct address so that the Proposed Person can be contacted if required by Government.)The document should also be self- Attested. ,, Should be notarized by the Person in his country of Residence. for Indian Person it should be on Stamp Paper of Rs 10-20/- for foreign national it should be on plain A4 Size Paper. ,, First Name, Last Name, Middle Name, Father's First Name, Father's Last Name, Father's Middle Name, Nationality, Whether Citizen of India, Current Occupation and Qualification, Date of Birth & Gender, Permanent Residential Address, ID of above documents provided. ,,,,
  3. Step 3: Keep your scanned passport photo ready.

  4. Step 4: Affidavit on Stamp Paper - Giving declaration that all information are true and correct.

  5. Step 5: Download the Application form for DIN Number i.e Form DIN-1 from Government website http://mca.gov.in/MCA21/Din.html

  6. Step 6: The form shall be duly filled with all necessary and basic information

  7. Step 7: The form requires following information to be filled in by the applicant.

  8. Step 8: Attach the Scanned Copy of Documents mentioned in Point 1

  9. Step 9: 3 &4 in the form mentioned above.

  10. Step 10: Get the form certified by a Chartered Accountant/Company Secretary/Cost Accountant by his digital signature

  11. Step 11: Create a Login at the http://mca.gov.in/MCA21/index.html

  12. Step 12: upload your form under e-form upload category.

  13. Step 13: After complete uploading of the form

  14. Step 14: make online payment through Credit card/NetBanking for a fee of INR 100/- After successfully uploading of Form DIN - 1

  15. Step 15: Person will get his directors identification number in few minutes

  16. Step 16: a mail will also be send by the ministry providing approved DIN Number.
