Step 1: Verify that your HTC Sensation is running on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) with HBoot Version 1.27.0000.
The HTC Sensation can only be rooted if the latest firmware is installed.
Tap on Menu, select “Settings,” then tap on “About phone” to view your device’s software information.
If the firmware on your Sensation needs updating, tap on “HTC software updates” and apply any available updates. -
Step 2: Navigate to HTC’s developer website at http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/.
