Step 1: To communicate with the computer via USB
It will not communicate if it is in serial mode.,, If you have issues with the driver, un-install the device from device manager and reinstall (For more info go to http://www.redlion.net/Products/DigitalandAnalog/Counters/CounterRate/PAX2D.html), → Options → USB → OK You can now load or extract the config file ONLY IF YOU FOLLOWED STEP 1 correctly.
The device MUST be in “Automatic” mode for USB communications.
The Config file that is pasted into this document will revert the USB mode to SERIAL after the device is rebooted.
Note that if it is in Serial mode it will show up on a different COM port. eg. serial mode = COM 16, than in Automatic mode = COM 17 , Sometimes you may need to reboot twice. -
Step 2: the red lion counter must be set to “automatic” mode under USB.

Step 3: From the home screen || “P” --> (Press F2 twice) PRO Port → “P” → PORT USB → “P” → use “F1” or F2 to make the screen read “CONFIG Auto” → “P” (to save) → hold “D” to exit programming mode.

Step 4: If Crimson 2.0 is installed prior to plugging the red lion into a PC

Step 5: the driver should install automatically since the driver for the PAX2D comes with the crimson software.

Step 6: To use Crimson to communicate over USB

Step 7: open the program and clink on “link” from the menu bar.

Step 8: Reboot the Red Lion device after every configuration flash to apply settings.
