How to Unjam a VCR

Step-by-Step Guide

   Step 1: Check to make sure it's plugged in.

   If its still jammed, go to step 2

   Step 2: Unplug the VCR.

   ,,,, If so, take it out.
   
   If not, read on. , If you find screws on the bottom, remove them.
   
   Take the bottom off.
   
   Check to see if any belts are missing.
   
   If not, turn the loading gear (you will see it) until it won't turn any more.
   
   Then turn it all the way back.
   
   If there is no way to take the bottom off, go to the next step. , Looking at the transport, you should find screws that are holding it in place.
   
   Take those out, then GENTLY take the transport out.
   
   If you need to, unplug some wires.
   
   Just make a note of were they belong. , Check for missing belts.
   
   Replace if needed.
   
   Then, turn the loading gear until it won't turn anymore.
   
   Then turn it all the way back. , Screw it back in place.
   
   Make sure its secure and EVERYTHING is the way you found it.
   
   Leave the top on. , It will make some noise, don't worry.
   
   Its just resetting itself. ,,,,,

   Step 3: Unscrew any screw that is holding the top on the unit.

   Step 4: Take the cover off

   Step 5: Stop and look at what you see.

   Step 6: Check to see if anything is inside that shouldn't be inside.

   Step 7: Flip the VCR upside down.

   Step 8: Turn the VCR right side up.

   Step 9: Turn the transport upside down.

    Step 10: Place the transport back inside the unit

    Step 11: plugging anything needed back in.

    Step 12: Plug the VCR back in.

    Step 13: Find a tape you don't care about.

    Step 14: Put the tape in the VCR.

    Step 15: Make sure everything is working right.

    Step 16: Put the top back on.

    Step 17: Eject the tape.
