Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Get both an inside view and outside view of the aircraft.

Zooming in on a leading edge or flap could probably be tricky but as far as the exterior is concerned you pretty much just need to have a steady hand.
  2. Step 2: Show the engine(s) to show how nice and clean they are (nobody wants to fly an airplane if the engine looks greasy and not maintained).

Then you would want to show the prop and look for and dings or scratches. ,,, All pilots want to know they won’t get lost with the latest and greatest avionics. ,,,,, This is a very import item to show as it gives the history of the aircraft and if someone is going a few hundred miles to inspect the aircraft they would like to know beforehand if it has damage history.
  3. Step 3: Get as many close ups of the paint job to show there is no cracking and it is presented well.

  4. Step 4: Show the landing gear and struts.

  5. Step 5: For the interior of course the main thing you would want to highlight would be the avionics suite.

  6. Step 6: Show the dash and any cracks or discoloration.

  7. Step 7: The interior carpets are kind of hard to get to but if you have a good zoom it shouldn’t be a problem.

  8. Step 8: As far as trim and wood work you have to be very careful here as the zoom feature probably want pick up wood textures as good as you would want and the video might not come out the way you want.

  9. Step 9: When you get to the seating pay close attention to any wear and tear that might be visible.

  10. Step 10: Copy as much of the log books as possible.
