Step 1: In order to make this live session possible
keeping in mind that Windows Media Encoder only supports Window platforms.
Before you have started your live session you should already have a website where you wish to showcase your live webcast -
Step 2: you will need a camera to capture the live action
Go to the link provided below.
It will bring you to the home page of Windows Media Encoder , It will bring you to the next page, where you will click “Continue”., Click the button “Download”. , This process will take a roughly 3-5 minutes. , Keep in mind that Windows Media Encoder only supports systems that have a Windows and Microsoft platform (i.e.
Linux, Mac do NOT support this software.) , Select ‘all programs’ then scroll up to ‘administrative tools,’ then to ‘Windows media.’ Then choose ‘Unicast Publishing Points’ from the main menu found near the top left hand side. , Now it is time too connect to the Media Service which will allow you too broadcast worldwide.
Identify your machine name and make sure that the port number is 8080 for Media Service as shown below. ,, Usually your system’s sound card should be able to recognize this device option, but double check that you see what is provided in the image below, then click “next” to continue. , The differences between these two connectivity methods are that when in a session, there is always a chance of a dropped connection.
The advantages of using the “Pull” option are that if you loose a connection during your session, the server will automatically reconnect.
The ‘Push” option will have less chance of dropping the connection but you will have to manually re-connect.
Once you have chosen the appropriate option, click “next” to continue. ,, Locating the ‘bit rate’ box and scrolling through will provide you with the bit rate options of 24kbps, 19kbps and15kbps.
You are going to want to pick the 24kbps, although if you are just doing an audio webcast, the 19kbps will do.
Continue by clicking “next. , This will connect the webcast to the site.
Clicking the ‘Start Encoding’ tab at the top middle of your screen will begin your webcast. -
