Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Plug in the USB Flash Drive into the computer and format it.
(Do not use the quick format option)Create a Folder called TrueCrypt -
Step 2: Download TrueCrypt from http://www.truecrypt.com and run the executable.
You will be given the option to install it or extract it to a location.
You Should use this option and direct it to the folder on the flash-drive. , Once Running You should see a button that says create volume.
Click it. ,, Select it and click next. , Then click next. , Click Next. , Click Next. , It is recommended that it be 20-40 characters long.
Click Next , After about 3-4 minutes it will finish. ,,,, Click Mount , There will be a new drive called:
Local Disk (letter chosen in the last step) Open it. ,,,, -
Step 3: Open the flash-drive and run TrueCrypt from the folder in the drive.

Step 4: Select the create an encrypted file container option and click next.

Step 5: You will be given the option to create a standard or hidden truecrypt volume we will use the standard one.

Step 6: Click Select File and set the location as the TrueCrypt folder on the Flash-Drive and save it as file.

Step 7: You will be given the option to change the encryption settings but the defaults will work fine.

Step 8: Set the size as 100MB (you can set it for more or less depending on the size of the documents and the flash drives capacity.)

Step 9: Now you need to set your password.

Step 10: Randomly move the cursor around the next window for 30 seconds before clicking format.

Step 11: Close the TrueCrypt window.

Step 12: Reopen TrueCrypt and Select a letter from the list.

Step 13: Click Select File and locate the file called file in the TrueCrypt folder on the flash-drive.

Step 14: Click mount and you will be prompted to enter your password do so.

Step 15: Leaving the TrueCrypt window open go to the start menu and click my computer.

Step 16: Copy the sensitive documents to the new drive.

Step 17: Go back to the TrueCrypt Window and click dismount.

Step 18: The files are now all encrypted and safe.

Step 19: Remove the Flash Drive and put it in a safe place.
