   Step 1: Back up all your important data and files on an external hard drive or discs before re-imaging your computer.

   Sometimes you cannot back up your data because a virus has corrupted your hard drive and it is too late to try to back them up.
   
   It is important to backup your files if at all possible.

   Step 2: Insert the Windows Installation CD

   Most computers and laptops come with an installation CD when you purchase it. , You will be prompted to boot the installation CD.
   
   Press any key on your keyboard to start the Windows Installation CD. , Depending on what kind of PC you have and what version of Windows you are using, wait times will vary. ,, In many cases, this partition is commonly known as the 'C' Drive. , Depending on your PC, it can take at least 1 hour or more to re-image your computer.

   Step 3: also known as a "restore" disc into your computer's hard drive.
