How to Tag Someone in Facebook Messenger on Android

Step 1: Open Messenger.

You’ll usually find it on the home screen or in the app drawer. -
Step 2: Select a group chat.
If you don’t see the chat in which you want to tag a member, use the search box at the top of the screen to find it. ,, For example, if you want to tag someone named Derek, type @derek.
A pop-up will appear, showing any users in the chat that match what you’ve typed. , When you tap the person, their name will appear in the chat box in blue, right where you’d originally typed the “@” tag. ,, It’s the blue paper airplane icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Your tagged message will now appear in the group chat.
The person you tagged will be notified that they’ve been tagged in the chat. -
