Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Assemble four sheets of origami paper.
Fold the paper in half diagonally and open it back up. , Fold point B and the rest of the paper to the left to meet the centre. , (They will overlap.) , (They will overlap.) , (All the flaps made in the last few steps will be on the inside. , Crease well and unfold. ,, Fold point F down on the middle crease. , At this point, you have made one completed unit.
Make 3 more of these.
Unfold the last two folds in each unit so that it is a long triangle with three creases. , This is tricky, so make sure you have a good grip on all of them; they will slide around.
Lining up the creases well is very important.
Lay down two of the units side by side, with the long edges against each other. ,, Slide it down to the centre.
This is where you need to make sure you have a very good grip on the units. ,, Fold up on the crease. , Fold to the right on the crease. ,, Carefully fold D down (but do not crease) just enough that you can fold B to the left.
Put D back in its original position. , There are no more creases as guides, but fold them the same way. ,,, Then grip the tips on each side and pull apart.

Step 2: Start with the color-side of the paper facing down.
-
Step 3: Fold point A and the rest of the paper to the right to meet the center.
-
Step 4: Fold point C (see picture) the same as you folded point A.
-
Step 5: Fold point D the same as you folded point B.
-
Step 6: Pick up the unit in half at the centre crease.
-
Step 7: Bring points E and F together to fold the unit in half.
-
Step 8: Fold point E down to the crease you made in the last step.
-
Step 9: Turn the unit over.
-
Step 10: Repeat the above process.
-
Step 11: Now assemble them.
-
Step 12: Notice the line in the centre of both units.
-
Step 13: Slide another unit in the top
-
Step 14: over A but behind B.
-
Step 15: Slide the last unit in from the bottom
-
Step 16: but let unit A be on top this time
-
Step 17: and unit B will be underneath.
-
Step 18: Examine the crease on unit D (see picture – the dotted line).
-
Step 19: Examine the crease on the bottom half of unit A.
-
Step 20: Examine the crease on unit C. Fold down on the crease.
-
Step 21: For this step
-
Step 22: examine B
-
Step 23: which D is covering.
-
Step 24: Repeat steps 15-18 until there is not enough paper to do any more layers.
-
Step 25: Turn the model over and repeat steps 15-18 on this side.
-
Step 26: Continue until there is not enough paper to make another layer.
-
Step 27: Twist the tips counter-clockwise on both sides to the way the spirals go.
-
